Thermoforming is a moulding technique where a plastic sheet or film is heated and then forced against the mould creating a vacuum or applying air pressure. Depending on the type and thickness of the material it is possible to obtain moulds that are very different in size and shape.

Depending on size and timing, aluminium moulds can be produced using a casting process or from a solid block of aluminium and are used to produce a variety of articles: from vehicle shells, dashboards and spoilers to food containers. In most cases the parts realized are not finished but must be cut with CNC machines using cutting templates designed and manufactured by Modelleria Tardivo simultaneously to the mould.
